Privacy & access

Jevmail.xyz suggests emails for four actions: Archive, Unsubscribe, Respond and Add to brief. Each email receives independent estimates for the available actions. The board nominates one eligible candidate per action; a nomination is not an instruction to act. A lane is empty when no eligible candidate remains.

What Jevmail.xyz accesses

Google provides your account ID, name and email address. With your consent, Jevmail.xyz reads Gmail messages. Archiving requires Google’s gmail.modify permission; existing read-only connections can continue viewing recommendations until you enable archiving. It considers up to 100 of your most recent inbox messages, including both read and unread email. Jevmail.xyz archives a selected message only when you click Archive. It removes that message’s INBOX label, leaving it available in All Mail. Undo restores INBOX for your most recent archive for up to 10 minutes. The permission Google grants allows broader mailbox operations, but this app does not send or delete messages or mark them as read.

How the Jev model is used

After you connect Google, recommendations load automatically when you open the dashboard. Saved selections are restored where available. New selections and each refresh assess up to 100 eligible inbox emails through Typesafe.ai. Each request contains one email’s bounded text excerpt, subject, sender, date and your timezone, with up to four independent yes/no probability questions. Other inbox candidates are not included in that request. Unchanged assessments may be reused from a six-hour score cache. The percentages are estimates; they have not been calibrated against your personal decisions. Each classifier also receives up to ten relevant feedback examples from your own action history, including limited subject and sender metadata. Completed actions carry more weight than tentative moves; opening a reply or unsubscribe page is not treated as completing that action. Brief selection also includes short excerpts from up to ten of your latest saved sources to help judge whether a new email adds useful information. Longer emails are shortened to fit the model’s context. Attachments are not sent to the model. For the selected emails, Jevmail.xyz retrieves available HTML and small embedded images to display their original formatting in an isolated reader. Scripts and forms are removed. Remote images load automatically; this contacts the image host and may tell the sender you opened the email. Open Gmail for other attachments and the full thread.

The model makes a recommendation based on these excerpts, not a guarantee of importance. Email content is treated as untrusted data. Typesafe processes the request under its own data policies; this prototype does not claim zero retention by that provider.

Unsubscribe opens an HTTPS unsubscribe link from the original email. When no such link is found, the action is disabled. Complete the action there. Respond opens the message in Gmail. Opening a link does not mark the email complete; Done is a separate action. Jevmail.xyz does not submit unsubscribe requests or send replies for you.

Add to brief saves an email as a source in your single, uncategorized brief, then archives that email. If archiving fails, the saved source remains and you can retry. Undo archive restores the inbox label and keeps the source. The Brief page shows original excerpts and links back to Gmail. It does not yet generate a combined summary. Removing a source changes the brief only.

What is stored

Your identity, sessions and encrypted Google tokens are stored in Upstash Redis. Jevmail.xyz does not store message bodies in Redis or application logs. It stores selected message IDs and your Done/Skip decisions and the most recent archive’s message ID for up to 30 days after your last triage activity. Done suppresses that email for 30 days; Skip suppresses it for 24 hours. Done and Skip do not change Gmail. Archive, Add to brief and Undo do. Brief source message IDs and added dates are saved separately until you remove them, including across sign-ins and reconnects. The collection is limited to 500 sources for now. Source content is fetched from Gmail when you read the brief. Hosting is provided by Vercel.

Action history is stored separately without automatic expiry. It records timestamps, message, selection and candidate batch IDs, up to 200 characters of subject and 160 of sender information, independent action scores, model nominations and versions, the candidate message IDs each engine ranked, which feedback examples informed each assessment, moves between actions, action requests and known outcomes, external page openings, archive undo and brief removals. It contains no message bodies or unsubscribe URLs. Moving a card saves a preference and its position, but does not change Gmail. History survives reconnecting the same Google account. It starts with activity recorded after this feature was enabled; earlier actions are not reconstructed.

Your choices

Signing out ends the current session. Disconnecting Gmail revokes Google access, deletes saved tokens and signs you out on all devices. Previous triage decisions become inaccessible and expire from Redis within 30 days. Your action history, brief’s source references and basic account identity remain; viewing sources requires reconnecting the same account. You can also remove Jevmail.xyz’s access in your Google Account’s third-party connections.

During the prototype

This describes the current prototype. A full privacy policy, support contact and account-deletion flow must be finalized before public launch.
